What is NGS Test?

High-capacity DNA sequencing technology, also known as NGS (Next Generation Sequencing), is a method used during in vitro fertilization treatment. With NGS, numerical chromosomal anomalies (aneuploidies) of embryos can be detected and it aims to prevent the use of these embryos. In this way, healthy embryos can be selected and transferred, significantly increasing pregnancy success and reducing miscarriage rates.

How is NGS Done?

Embryo Biopsy: An appropriate biopsy sample is taken from the embryos obtained during in vitro fertilization treatment on the 5th day. The embryos are not damaged in any way during the biopsy process applied to the embryos. The biopsied embryos are then frozen.

Genetic Analysis: The codes of the genetic structure in the sample taken are examined in detail with the latest technological devices. Thanks to this examination, the entire chromosome map of the embryos can be viewed and chromosomal disorders can be detected. Since the X and Y chromosomes are also scanned, the gender of the embryos is also determined.

Healthy Embryo Transfer: Embryos with normal chromosome structure are transferred to the mother's uterus.

Who is NGS Test Suitable for?

This method is especially preferred in groups with recurrent in vitro fertilization failures or miscarriages. It is an ideal method for women with low egg quality or after the age of 40. In cases of infertility of unknown cause, couples with structural chromosomal problems such as translocation, and low sperm quality, embryos determined to be chromosomally healthy can be transferred using the NGS method. Comprehensive Chromosome Screening (NGS) allows you to step into a healthy future.

Frequently asked Questions

What is NGS test?

It is a modern technology that analyzes genetic material by sequencing it in detail and quickly.

How long does the NGS test take?

NGS test results within three weeks.

Is the NGS test reliable?

Yes, NGS tests have high accuracy rates and are widely used in genetic research and medical diagnostics.

What diseases can the NGS test detect?

NGS detects chromosomal anomalies.

How much does NGS testing cost?

What are the Advantages of NGS Test?

It increases the pregnancy success rate.

Since chromosomally normal embryos are selected, the pregnancy rate increases after transfer. It determines the gender of the transferred embryos.

Can gender selection be made with NGS?

Since it is a test that covers all chromosomes, it also covers the X and Y chromosomes and separates each embryo into male and female.
